My name is Gemma Levitas and I am a South London based Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
I am an accredited psychodynamic psychotherapist, registered with the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), monitored by the professional standards authority. I obtained my post graduate qualification in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF), one of the leading UK training institutions for Psychotherapists.
I have worked within the NHS and private practice with a diverse range of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, obssesive compulsive thinking and behaviours, fertility problems, post-natal depression, eating disorders, difficulties with making and sustaining relationships, and many other emotional and behavioural difficulties.
My therapy room is located between Streatham and Norbury in SW16. There is a train station 5 minutes walk away and free parking outside.
The type of therapy offered:
I practise both time-limited (12 sessions) and open-ended psychodynamic therapy. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is talking based therapy.
A session runs for 50 minutes each week.
We will come to an agreement early on about what type of therapy is right for you. If it is time-limited, we will agree an end date for the therapy.
Open-ended therapy is longer term and allows for deeper exploration of your internal world. The sessions will run weekly until we agree an end date at some point in future.
I have full professional indemnity insurance.
